Bryant Virgen.

UI/UX Product Designer · UX Strategist

I'm a Product Designer with over 5+ years of experience collaborating and leading design initiatives from discovery to implementation. I've worked in consultancy and agency environments, often as the sole designer on cross-functional teams - and just as comfortable as one of many. My approach is strategic and user-centered: I help teams turn vague ideas into actionable design outcomes that align with business goals.

I'm passionate about creating meaningful digital products, guiding design teams, and collaborating with stakeholders to bring clarity, impact, and execution. Looking to grow into Lead Product Designer roles where I can shape design culture and drive product strategy.

What I bring to the table.

A cross-section of disciplines strategic, executional, and research-driven, shaped over 5+ years across consultancy and agency work.

02 / Craft

Product Design

End-to-end product work, from discovery to implementation - paired with developer teams to ship interactions and prototypes that survive handoff intact.

  • UI / UX design
  • Wireframes & user flows
  • Prototypes & dev handoff
03 / Research

User Research

Investigating users and existing applications to inform design decisions before reaching the stakeholders. Mixed-methods research that earns its place in the roadmap.

  • User & product investigation
  • Insights & design hypotheses
  • Usability validation
04 / Systems

Design Systems

Scalable, accessible component libraries that bridge design and engineering.

  • Token architecture
  • Component libraries
  • Documentation
05 / Inclusive

Accessibility

ADA & WCAG-informed design. Accessibility isn't compliance, it's dignity, as a default.

  • WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Audit & remediation
  • Inclusive research
06 / Team

Team Leadership

Mentoring designers, shaping processes, and making space for everyone to do their best work.

  • 1:1 mentorship
  • Critique culture
  • Design-ops rituals

How I work.

Not a rigid process a set of principles I bring to every project, whatever the phase. The work shapes the method as much as the method shapes the work.

01Framing

Start with the problem, not the brief

Briefs describe symptoms. I dig for the real problem with stakeholders before proposing anything turning a vague idea into a sharp, testable question.

  • Stakeholder interviews
  • Problem reframing
  • Success criteria
02Evidence

Decisions need proof, not opinions

Research lives next to design, not in a separate phase. Usability tests and A/B comparisons settle disagreements not the loudest voice in the room.

  • Usability testing
  • A/B comparisons
  • Competitive audits
03Constraints

Design for what can actually ship

I think like a developer early. Platform limits Power BI, legacy systems, tight timelines, shape the design from day one, so nothing dies at handoff.

  • Technical feasibility
  • Scope trade-offs
  • Platform limits
04Craft

Hierarchy is trust, not decoration

Every layout decision earns its place. I use visual hierarchy to make complex data feel navigable and credible clarity is the deliverable.

  • Information architecture
  • Design systems
  • Accessibility (WCAG)
05Partnership

The best work happens with engineers

I treat the dev team as design partners daily pairing, a clean annotated handoff, and constant communication through launch and beyond.

  • Dev pairing
  • Annotated handoff
  • Post-launch iteration

Selected work.

Cases, not just screens. Each project documented from discovery through dev handoff.

What kind of role are you looking for?

Looking to grow into Lead Product Designer roles where I can shape design culture and drive product strategy. Open to both in-house and agency environments fully remote or hybrid where there is room to mentor designers, partner closely with product and engineering, and own design decisions end to end.

How many years of experience do you have?

5+ years collaborating and leading design initiatives from discovery to implementation, across consultancy and agency environments. I've often been the sole designer in cross-functional teams, which forced me to develop strong research, strategy and execution muscles in parallel.

Do you do research, or just UI?

Both. I've worked as both UI/UX Designer and UX Researcher across the product timeline, from sitting with users and auditing existing applications to wireframes, hi-fi UI, and prototypes. Research isn't a separate phase for me; it lives next to design decisions and shapes them in real time.

How do you collaborate with engineers?

Hand in hand. I work closely with the dev team to deliver a clean handoff, interactions, prototypes, and daily pairing that turns unknowns into solved problems. I treat engineers as design partners, not implementers; the best ideas usually come out of those conversations.

What's your process when timelines are tight?

Adapting and being in constant communication with the team and stakeholders is key. The TaxPayment App was shipped in 4 weeks - every design decision had to earn its place. Tight timelines force clarity: fewer rounds, sharper hypotheses, and earlier validation with whoever will use the work.

Where are you based and what's your availability?

Based in Zapopan, Jalisco (Mexico) - Central Time, GMT-6. I work fully remote or hybrid, and I'm open to full-time roles as well as freelance and contract projects. The time-zone overlap with most of North America makes real-time collaboration easy.
